BILLYE

  Billye had lost everything – her home, her marriage, her income.  Emotionally fragile and depressed, she found it hard to concentrate and had extended crying spells.  As Billye received treatment for her depression she was able to take back control of her life and one of her first steps was to find a job.  When Billye came to The Women’s Center she didn’t know what kind of work she wanted to do or could do.  The Jobs NOW job search training program was the perfect solution.  “It was the most beneficial experience of my life.  Every class was practical and applicable to finding a job.  I learned how to fill out an application, how to look for a job, and I gained the self-confidence to answer questions about myself.”  Upon completing the training sequence, Billye secured the job she wanted and remains employed. She continues to work with the staff on job retention and advancement skills.  “I would never have gotten out of bed.  I would still be there crying if not for The Women’s Center.”
